New Year, New Possibility

Now that 2016’s corpse is getting cold…

Oh who are we kidding; with the “bang” 2016 went out on, this year is looking no brighter than the next handful, whatever territory of life you may be looking toward.

If there’s one thing that I’ve been learning lately however it’s that living in miserable circumstances won’t improve by perpetuating more sentiments of misery. 2017 is still a new year with new opportunities to surprise and disappoint so let’s get ready to grab it by the horns.

What’s around the corner:

Calling the film scene of 2016 less than stellar is tantamount to saying the stratosphere is located above ground; a gross oversimplification that doesn’t accurately represent the scale of the topic at hand. Misfires, disappointments, hollow and expensive bores, pretentious statements with less to say than they think, sequels that nobody asked for, etc.

That doesn’t change that it still brought with it a fair amount of movies that more than deserve their due.

Expect the Best of 2016 later this week and its glorious antithesis the following week as I run the gauntlet of the worst in a year of worse than usual in Crapshoot 2017.

What’s over the horizon:

Expect more out of all the running series’; I’ve been biting back many an observation of crappy parenting in regard to direct to video Disney sequels, as well as revisiting a few underappreciated classics.

Above all else however, forthcoming details on my previously discussed project that will bring with it a slew of related content.

And all of this in a hopefully more timely fashion now that I will be managing it all while juggling a job that is looking to be far less stressful and much closer to home.
